Start by peeling, coring, and chopping the apples into chunks. This helps them cook faster and blend more smoothly.
In a large saucepan, add the chopped apples and enough water to just cover them. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once the water is boiling, continue to cook the apples for about 5 minutes, or until they are soft enough to easily pierce with a fork.
Drain the apples and transfer them to a blender or food processor. Blend the apples until you reach your desired consistency.
Let the applesauce cool slightly before serving it to your toddler. You can serve it as is, or mix it with a bit of cinnamon.
