Homemade Pop Tarts

Ingredients

Homemade Dough

  • 1 3/4 cup self rising flour
  • 1 cup greek yogurt
  • or use 1 box refrigerated pie crust

Filling and topping

  • jam of choice
  • 4 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp milk
  • sprinkles

Instructions

To Make The Dough

  • In a bowl, add the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt.
  • Mix until a dough forms.
  • Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth.
  • Roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/8-inch thick.

Assemble The Pop Tarts

  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the rolled dough (or pie crust) into a large rectangle, then cut into 8 equal pieces.
  • Spoon a small amount of jam into the center of half of the pieces, leaving space around the edges.
  • Place the remaining dough pieces on top to form the pop tarts.
  • Use a fork to press down and seal the edges all the way around.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  • Let cool slightly.

Icing

  • In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle the icing over the cooled pop tarts and add sprinkles.
