Cheesy Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup frozen peas or mixed veggies
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat.
  • Once the water is boiling, add the rice and frozen peas (or mixed veggies). Stir well, then cover with a lid, leaving a small opening for steam to escape. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer until the rice is cooked and the water is fully absorbed. This should take about 15-20 minutes.
  • Once the rice is cooked, remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and butter until everything is well combined and the cheese is melted.
  • Allow the cheesy rice to cool slightly before serving it to your toddler.
