Servings: 9 bars
- 5 bananas mashed
- 1 cup peanut butter or other nut or seed butter
- 4 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, peanut butter, rolled oats, and chocolate chips. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Once the ingredients are evenly mixed, transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread the mixture evenly in the dish, smoothing out the top.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the bars are set.
Once baked, remove the banana bars from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the dish before slicing into bars.
Make sure the bananas are very ripe for the best natural sweetness and texture.
Let the bars cool completely before slicing for cleaner edges.
Store leftover banana bars in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze the bars individually wrapped in plastic wrap or aluminum foil for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
